Originated thousands of years back, this divine science is still bestowing its goodness to many people around the world, and will undoubtedly continue to do so for a number of impending years. Ayurvedic theories are absolute. Without a shred of doubt, the medicines, treatments and the therapies described in the Vedas are accepted and implemented world wide. Based on the simple fact that a healthy living and beautiful thinking can achieve a healthy body, the discipline has the cure to all possible sicknesses that may occur in a living body. Convinced evidences from the ancient history reveals that the Ayurvedic practitioners were skilled enough to treat fractured bones, perform surgeries and even cosmetic surgeries in that period of time. Using Ayurvedic concepts and its treatments as a foundation, present day scientists are trying to make medicines and vaccines for fatal diseases like cancers and AIDS.

Ayurveda: The Holistic Science

Ayurveda identifies the human body as an outcome of the harmonious working of three natural forces. They are Vata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and Kapha Dosha. Going in to the deep, the three Doshas are the combinations of five basic elements a living body is made of. These Doshas with their proportion to one another, define basic characteristics, like appearance, temperament, functioning of the body organs etc of a human body. The Ayurvedic practitioners before beginning any treatment, identify one’s body type and hence decide the medicines, treatments and therapies most beneficial for that individual. Therefore, any two people suffering from the same sickness will be treated via different means according to  the Ayurveda.

Basics Of Pitta Dosha

Pitta Dosha is the combination of fire and water. This prime force governs the metabolic activities inside the body. Solely responsible for maintaining the temperature of the body, this force also dominates the digestive system, skin, blood, brain and eyes. The Pitta dosha is responsible for the secretion of juices like melanin and haemoglobin inside the human body. Sweat glands and the umbilical region also function in accordance with a proportion of the Pitta Dosha.

Pitta Personality

As Pitta dosha governs the production of juices like melanin and haemoglobin, individuals having this Dosha as a dominant one, are naturally blessed with smooth skin and silky hair with a moderate size of body. At the same time, the deranged levels of Pitta Dosha make these people more prone to skin problems. The disturbed levels of Pitta Dosha effect the secretion of melanin thus resulting in early greying of the hair.

The Pitta Dosha dominance makes the person ambitious, strong willed and focused. The strong digestive system allows these people to have any food of their choice without facing many bowel system problems.

Pitta Dosha: Cause Of Imbalance

The levels of Pitta Dosha gets disturbed if the individual is having a lot of spicy and dry food. If the person is over indulging in fasting habits and skipping meals, the Pitta levels get deranged. Emotional setbacks and over exposure to hot temperatures also aggravate the disturbances in the Pitta proportions.

Prevention And Cure

Sour, pungent and salty tastes stimulate the level of pitta whilst bitter, sweet and acid tasting food weakens the raised levels. Milk, butter and all dairy products are good for pacifying the Pitta Dosha.  All sweeteners are helpful in bringing the Pitta levels to normal, yet honey and molasses should be avoided. The non vegetarian people having a dominant pitta type should restrict themselves to chicken, pheasant or turkey. Beef, eggs yolk and seafood aggravate the Pitta proportions.
